Description
Yinarupa born c. 1948 is a senior western desert painter originally from a place called Mukula in Western Australia. Yinarupa is the daughter of the late Anatjari Tjampitjinpa, a highly regarded artist.
In this painting Yinarupa paints her traditional lands at 'Ngamurru' located in Kiwirrkurra, WA. This is a meeting place where women conduct ceremonial business and is an area abundant with the seed of the native Acacia.
Yinarupa was recently awarded, one of the prestigious Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards for 2009.
