Description
Alison’s works are primarily depictions of her country and sites of significance between the communities of Kintore and Kiwikurra in the Western desert of Central Australia consisting of traditional linear designs, concentric circles and dot work.
In this painting Alison is depicting 'Women's Tingari'. Tingari is a word used by many indigenous people from central Australia to describe something that occurred during the Dreamtime. Tingari is generally associated with a group of spirits from the Dreaming (Creation era) who travelled over the Earth performing rituals and creating and shaping particular sites.
