Description

Betty is one of the acclaimed artist Minnie Pwerle’s daughters, said to be the favourite of Minnie, now Betty is carrying on the tradition of painting the bush melon dreaming and body painting motifs used for women’s ceremonies in the Utopia Region of the NT. Betty is also a sister to the highly respected artist Barbara Weir.

Betty’s paintings are highly colourful and striking in their composition. Her Style is bold, energetic and vibrantly coloured.

Betty is a rising star of the art movement. The spirit of her mother's work can be seen in Betty’s painting and exemplifies the long held tradition of passing stories from one generation to the next.

Betty’s paintings have gained a strong following within a very short space of time and she will certainly be an artist to watch over the coming years.
