Description
Lily Lion Kngwarreye, is from the same family (skin) group as Lucky Morton Kngwarreye and is the sister of Michelle Lion. Lily like many of the women from Utopia - started painting and developed her dreamtime stories through the medium of Batik.
In this painting, Lily is depicting a narrative story based around life in Utopia. She has produced a wonderfully naive style of artwork - there are snapshots of different scenes, boys and men playing AFL, women and girls watching on, all enjoying activities associated with daily life.
