Jeannie is an Anmatyerre woman from the Utopia Region. Born in 1957, Jeannie comes from a region well-known for producing painters of exceptional skill including Jeannie's sisters through traditional law: Kathleen and Gloria Petyarre. Jeannie's aunt was the famous painter Emily Kame Kngwarreye.

Jeannie paint stories associated with her family's totem, the Bush Yam. This is a stable food source in the Utopia region of Central Australia.
