1973

Area

Yuendumu, NT

Julie Robinson Nangala was born in the Tanami Desert, Yuendumu (west of Alice Springs), in 1973. She is the daughter of highly acclaimed artist, Dorothy Robinson Napangardi and often paints alongside her mother.

As Julie often paints with her mother, Dorothy, her dot work is similar in technique – intricate and delicate, while showing the flow of water and creating movement throughout the canvas. Julie works mostly with subtle colour schemes, such as varying shades of grays, reds, oranges blacks and whites.
