Kindy Ross comes from a line of artists who originally began painting due to the Batik movement that swept across the Utopia region in the 1980s.
Kindy paints her Country at Ampilatwatja, and through this, her knowledge of the land is portrayed in great detail. Her artworks focus on bush medicine plants and traditional bush foods that are collected during season.
Her technique and application are fine and delicate. She uses colourful pigments and creates a sense of the changing seasons that are evident in the desert.
