Sylvaria was born in 1993 in the Utopia region of Central Australia. Utopia is an Indigenous community located 300km North East of Alice Springs and is approximately 60 square kilometres big. Her Country is Arawerre (Soapy Bore) and still currently resides there wither her husband and three children.

She is the daughter of Joycie Jones, who passed on the story of the Red Mallee Flower (called Ntyeny Ngkwarl in the Alyawarre language) to Sylvaria. Sylvaria’s artistic style is heavily influenced by her mother and her grandmother, Topsy Jones, who are well-regarded Utopian artists.
