Trephina paints Burning Grass, which is an important aspect of traditional living. Indigenous communities would burn their land to promote the regrowth of vegetation, promote grass growth which attracts kangaroos to hunt, as well as to back-burn areas so large, dangerous bushfires could not sweep through the land and threaten communities. Indigenous knowledge of when and how to back-burn is detailed and valuable, and, in some areas, has started to be incorporated into contemporary land management strategies.
