Sally is well known for her stories associated with Wild Desert Flowers, celebrating the various flora of her Country. Painting is part of a tradition in Aboriginal culture of passing down important knowledge through artistic expression. Her paintings consist of precise dot work with a free use of bright, bold colours to create striking pieces. Her work represents the wild flowers in bloom, especially after the desert rains. Each piece represents the importance of the Aboriginal women’s role in collecting, carrying and preparing all the different types of flora that are found throughout Central Australia.
