Jacinda Hayes is a young artist born in 1992 and is from Alice Springs, Northern Territory. Her grandmother is Margaret Scobie, a well-established and well-known artist who paints Bush Medicine Leaves as her totemic Dreaming Story. Bush Medicine Leaves are a native species of acacia and are used extensively in traditional Indigenous healing. During the life cycle of the plant, the bush medicine leaves change colour and eventually float to the ground, inspiring the movement and vivid spectrum of colour characteristic of Indigenous leaf-work designs.
