Bambatu regularly paints the ‘Tali - Tali’ theme in her artworks and this represents the sand hills of her country. These sand hills are shown by her use of striking geometric dotted lines that create a maze-like effect. The circular forms depict rock holes where women would gather along their travels.

Bambatu also shows a rockhole in the centre of the painting. This identifies where water can be found in the remote areas of the desert. The grid like pattern represents sandhills (‘Tali – Tali’) and the white dots represent a mirage ‘shimmering’ in the desert.
