Bessie paints 'Anwekety Jukurrpa' or Bush Plum Dreaming, a totem she inherited from her mother. The bush plum is a stable bush food gathered by Aboriginal women. Traditionally, the bark of the bush plum was also used for the treatment of infections and wounds. Ceremonies are performed to celebrate the importance of the bush plum and to promote the plant's growth.
