Cedrick paints totemic stories associated with the Bush Onion (Cyperus bulbosus Vahl). The Bush Onion is found to grow around water soakage sites in around dry river beds. The Bush Onion is a stable food source for the Aboriginal people in remote communities. It generally grows all year round and after the rains, they germinate, forming new plants. The onions are dark in colour and are peeled before they are eaten either raw or cooked. Yalke is the Warlpiri work for Bush Onion.
