This paintings depicts the communities of the Nyabul clan that live along the river of the Richmond River near Wardell. This waterway system today is still vital to survival of our people who lived off the land fishing. As the Nyabul clan lives close to the beaches of Ballina and Wardell this is represented in the sands of creams and the blue representing the river. The river is a major system in this area and it’s importance to the Bundjalung people is significant.
