Maureen primarily paints using earthly browns, oranges, yellows, blacks and whites. Her paintings consist of vertical and horizontal dotting and concentric circles to create grid-like compositions, depicting the Warakurna region of Western Australia from a topographical viewpoint. Concentric circles represent campsites, or meeting places, while the line connecting these are the travel paths taken to each place. The dotted line-work in the background depicts Tali Tali (Sandhills), which is often depicted by a line with a row of dots next to it.
