Kevin Bird Mpetyane is son of Paddy and Eileen Bird, and the grandson of Ada Bird Petyarre. He is married to artist Marie Ryder and they have four children. Kevin comes from a highly talented family of artists.

By using traditional symbols, he is able to represent the stories of his country. Kevin represents significant meeting places and utilises traditional colours that portray specific meanings throughout his artworks.
