Lillian’s paintings depict her totem Bush Yam for which she is one of the custodians within her culture. Bush yam vegetables grow beneath the earth, and are an important food source for desert survival. Lillian uses traditional iconography to map out a topographical viewpoint of the Tanami Desert, tributing to the Country of the Yam.
