Goanna Dreaming is a story that takes place South West of Yuendumu. It tells the story of a group of women that were sitting in a circle, when a man approached the women. He wanted to marry a woman from this group but he was of the wrong kinship. He took her regardless, and went to a nearby hill where they did marry, and the earth turned into yellow and white ochre. The man turned himself and all the women into Goannas. The ochre is still found on the hill and is used for ceremonial purposes.

The women are represented by the U shapes, while the concentric circles represent rock hole sites.
